NHS 111 provides telephone assessment to the general public wishing to contact a GP or seek general health advice and management. The types of calls you will manage include prescription medication enquiries, toxic ingestion and health information enquiries. You will also support clinical advisors in both NHS 111 & the Emergency Operations Centre in 999. NHS 111 has successfully piloted using pharmacists in the call centre environment and with the development of a YAS Clinical Advisory Service we now want to develop the team further.
You will have at least 4-years post-registration experience working within a clinical environment, which could including Medicines Information. In addition to holding an UG Pharmacy Degree (BSc/MPharm), you will be a Member of the General Pharmacy Council and hold a postgraduate Diploma and/or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or Pharmacy Practice.
You will need knowledge/ experience of providing clinical advice/information over the telephone with experience of following NHS Pathways but this is not essential. You will need excellent telephone communication skills and be self-motivated to be able to manage your own work load.
We are looking for someone to work on a zero-hour contract, we also have a number of hours available for a 2 years fixed term contract averaging between 15 to 20 hours per week. depending on the needs of the service at Agenda for Change Band 7. Unsocial hour’s payments of up to 25% will also be paid retrospectively every 13 weeks.
The post holders will be required to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays across sites at Wakefield and Rotherham. You would also be expected to work in partnership as an expert resource with GP out of hours and the wider YAS organisation. You would be professionally accountable to the NHS 111 Operational Lead Pharmacist.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
